Unable to install windows xp professional on VMWare workstation 7.1

I tried to install Windows Xp Professional 32 bit from an NRG image file. My host is Windows 7 ultimate, Processor : Intel core2duo

When i powered on the VM for the first time after specifying Disk size, Ram.....and other specifications, it is booting through network.

Not loading files from image file supplied.I even changed the first boot device of VM to CD/DVD and also to hard drive. But, no use.

It is directly connecting to DHCP and showing the error msg no OS found.

I even tried to install after stopping the VMware DHCP service from services.msc, the same situation repeated.

Pls suggest me the Solution.

Thanks in advance.

You need to use an ISO (.iso) Image file and an NGR (.nrg) Image file is a proprietary image file format created by Nero Burning ROM and is not an ISO (.iso) Image file.  You could try Google for .ngr to .iso or NGR2ISO to find a utility to convert it.
