I have a VM moved from ESXi to Workstation 15. It is Windows 2008R2 previously converted from physical hardware to VM using Vmware Converter. VM boot OK, Vmware tools reported to be out of date. When trying to update it reports the error 'VMware Alias Manager and Ticket Service' (VGAuthService) failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services"
I tried uninstalling the old tools, uninstalling C++Redistibutable, deleting C:\Program Files\VMware\VMware Tools and
C:\program data\VMware\VMware tools\, delete Vmware tool entries from registry, upgrade Workstation to v16, and I still can't install Vmware Tools. I would appreciate any recommendations.
