Hi ,
I need a help.... I am new to Vm . i have installed two VM Guest the problem is i am unable to login through putty from the host machine.can some one help me to resole this issue.
What is your Host OS?
What is your VMware Workstation version?
What is the Guest OS in the VMs?
What type of networking is configured for the VMs?
Host Os -- Windows 7 Enterprise, 64-bit 6.1.7601, Service Pack 1
Vmware workstation version -- VMware® Workstation 12 Pro
Guest OS in the VMs --- Oracle Linux 6
Networking is configured for the VMs? ---
VM1
Network adapter -- host only
VM2
Network adapter -- host only
Welcome to the Community,
are you able to ping the VM on it's 192.168.2.x IP address?
does the guest OS allow SSH connections, i.e. no firewall rules within the guest OS blocking SSH?
André
No i am unable to ping form host ...
if i ping i am getting request timeout.
Regards,
Raja
Please check the network settings.
On the host OS (WIndows), run ipconfig /all and post the settings for "VMnet1", which is the Hot-Only's virtual network adater.
For the guest, post the network adapter's configuration (should be: /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0), and the ifconfig output.
In addition to this, please attach the VM's configuration (.vmx) file to a reply post.
André
Thanks ...please find the requested info .. i willget the ifconfig details...

From the configuration you posted, the VM has two virtual network adapters, Host-Only and NAT.
The NAT adapter on "eth0" has the IP address 192.168.244.128, which - assuming default settings - is a DHCP address from the VMnet8 (NAT) subnet.
However, the Host-Only adapter on "eth1" has a static IP address 192.168.10.1, which is not in the Host-Only subnet (192.168.2.9/24). I'd suggest you either set "eth1" to DHCP, or assign a valid IP address (e.g. 192.168.2.3 ... 127) to it.
André
