Unable to connect to an ESXi VM

I have version 14 of Workstation installed on my computer. While I mostly use local VMs stored on my computer, occasionally I need to us some VMs that are running on an ESXi 5 machine. I can connect to the ESXi 5 machine, see all of the VMs, but when I try to open one of them in Workstation, I get a message "Unable to connect to the MKS: Login (username/password) incorrect. I have changed my config.ini to use port 902. Beyond that I don't know what to do. The ESXi VMs are working correctly, I can open consoles using vClient software.

Thank You in advance.

What exact version of ESXi are you trying to connect to? Are you positive that TCP and UDP 902 are open from your Workstation system to the management vmkernel port of the target ESXi host? This is the first place to start looking.
