Unable to change Virtual Memory

Hi,

I am using vmware workstation by mistake my memory is set to 9.2GB, now while restarting vmware i am getting error message and if I try to change the vmware memory setting I am unable to do so as it is disabled.

Welcome to the Community,

when you say "... while restarting vmware ...", are you actually referring to the virtual machine? In this case make sure that the VM is not in a suspended state. Depending on the VMware Workstation version, you'll need to delete the .vmss (virtual machine suspend state) file in the VM's folder. Remember that this equals a hard reset on a physical machine, so consider to backup the VM's files to have a way back should something go wrong.

Instead of replacing vmss file with a new file i had modified the existing file
