Unable to boot VM

Hi,

I have this problem where I am unable to start a VM. Before I go to the error just a small note on how the CM was created, this VM is a physical machine converted to VM and if I am not wrong the vm version on that machine is version 9. When I started on the original converted machine it was working fine. Then I copied the vm over to another host which is having VM 10 and I am trying to boot it up, I am getting the following error message

Screenshot 2013-11-12 14.15.05.png

After some research I found that the CID have to be changed in he 0001.vmdk but when I opened the file all I see is HEX numbers (I think) cause if I opened the original vmdk file and it is opening normally with viewable text, so how to open 0001.vmdk like normal so i can edit the CID , pls advise tks.

Hello,

Try to make another copy of this .vmdk file.

It seems, that .vmdk was still in use , when you copied it or not fully closed.

As I know VMware 10 asking to convert old vmdk files to v10, but

try to create Virtual Machine of version 9 on VMware 10 and then join vmdk file.

Hope will help.

Yours, Oscar

The reason i think i need to edit the CID is seems a bit illogical after I have posted this question... :smileyplain:

Sorry for that..

But now i am able to boot it up after I deleted the lock folder. For some reason then i am able to boot. Tks for the help.
