Unable to access ntfs shares from Win 10 guest

Using Player on Linux Mint 17.2 host. Upgraded to Win 10 from 8.1 Pro and now shares "cannot be reached." Seems to be ntfs permissions. Is anybody using this combo?

Hi,

As you mention that the shares worked before the windows 10 update then normally it is enough to:

- uninstall VMware Tools

- reboot Windows 10 guest

- install VMware Tools

- reboot Windows 10 guest

Please note that a vmware tools "repair install" typically does not fix this.

Thanks for the assist. I had tried similar steps to reinstall VMware Tools from the VM menu several times but no joy. This time I removed VMware Tools from Control Panel > Programs and Features. Oddly, I noticed the previous install date of VMware Tools was 7/15 which was Win 8.1. Apparently, "Reinstall" from the VM menu doesn't actually do what it says. Anyway, I'm back up and greatly appreciate your help.
