Unable to Power on Virtual Machine

Hi , 

When I try to power on my virtual machine, I get a dialog box stating "The operation was canceled by the user." I am running Windows server 2008. Please advise.

Are you powering on the VM or are you resuming it from standby?

Thanks for your reply. I am powering on the VM. I am not returning from standby.

Do you run Windows 2008 as the host OS or as the guest OS? Is this a new installation or did it already work previously?

Try to disable UAC and/or start VMware Workstation "As Administrator" to see whether this changes anything.

PS: Btw. which version of VMware Workstation do you use?

Hi Ande,

I am jusing Wrokstation 9. My host is windows 7 and the guest in Windows Server 2008. Itwas working previously.

Please note that i was able to resolve this by disabling the VNC Connections under the VM Settings>Options. Is theee any issue with using two different OS?
