Unable to Export to OVF in VMware Workstation 16 PRO

I'm getting the following error:

"Export failed: Failed to stream from disk: C:\Users\username\OneDrive - Caresyntax\Documents\Virtual Machines\DresdenVM-000002.vmdk. Reason: Read beyond end of object"

Please advise. Thank you kindly.

Like most VMware products, the Communities has an area for Workstation Pro, which is where your thread should have been so it is seen by the correct audience.. Now that I've reported it to moderators, one of them should move it for you.

I'm wondering if it's because the disk is on a OneDrive maybe? If so, it is too late to re-configure and specify a local path? I don't see the option to edit the path as enabled though.

DONT STORE VMs IN ONEDRIVE !

Find a different directory to store your VMs.

Shut down the VM.  Move the VM folder to a disk/folder on your computer that is NOT backed up by OneDrive.  Re-open it from the new location in Workstation.

I shut down the VM, actually the Workstation window entirely, VM was already powered down. I moved the entire Virtual Machine directory locally (via a copy). I did a File -> Open. I navigated to and selected the local version of the VM file. It asked me if it moved and I said yes. After it was done, I did a File - > Export OVF and it failed again with the same error (Reason - Read beyond end of object) but this time referencing the local path.

Your vmx-file is to complicated for the poor OVF-tool.
Attach your vmx-file and a list of files in the VMs home directory.

Does the VM works without issues in the new location ?
