Ubuntu, Workstation 16.2.3, Auto Suspend

I'm using KDE Neon 5.24, which is based on Ubuntu.

When the OS shutdowns, the VMs do not auto suspend. They power off. I thought auto suspend was on by default.

Is there a way to auto spend all VMs when the host OS shuts down?

Are you sure that they power off ?
I use 16.2.3 on Debian 10 and here the VMs just crash - hard powered off when I reboot the host.
I assume that thats normal, expected behaviour.

I guess hard power off would be more accurate. It's something other than a suspend.

A search showed me Workstation does do auto suspend, but all of those reference Windows. Not sure if a Windows only feature.

Is that uptodate ?
I remember that earlier versions could do that - but I doubt it still works.
