USB drive do not appear

My VM is running Windows7 and none of my USB drive appear. How do I get them to appear in Windows Explorer?

First make sure that your host can see it then do the following in your VM Workstation :

In the picture attached , it is an example of my external Hard Disk , all you have to do is click on Connect (Disconnect from host) and you should be able to access it from inside your VM . In case there is problem and this cannot be done , you can always use shared folders between Host and VM

What is your host OS ?
Does your host use USB 3 controllers ?
