I have 2 HP Z620 workstations running VMware® Workstation 12 Pro - 12.5.9 build-7535481
Workstation 1 is running Windows 10 2019 LTSC
Workstation 2 is running Windows 10 1607. Yes it is an older version.
Both workstations have the same group policies applied to them.
Both workstations also have the following services running.
I am using a USB to Profibus interface device. When I plug it in to either workstation 1 or 2, the device shows up under hardware configuration and the hardware information shows the same driver version.
When I plug the device into Workstation 2, it shows up under removable devices menu option.
When I plug the device into Workstation 1 it does not show up under removable devices menu option. <- Edited
The only difference that I am able to determine is the version of Windows. the guest VMs on each workstation are configured identically.
Not sure what is missing.

Ooops. I was typing impaired. I edited the correct number of the workstation.
Windows 10 2019 LTSC does not show the device in the removable devices menu.
I will try running VMware as Admin
Did you get a resolution to this issue? I am having a very similar problem
