USB WIBU Key causes VM to freeze

Hi all

On a Windows 10 Professional host (Version 1909, Build: 18363.418) a Windows 7 Professional guest freezes as soon as a dongle license key (WIBU-key) is connected to the guest. The VMware workstation is version 15. Did already try to install newest driver for WIBU-key, no change. The guest did work well over time with VMware workstation 12.

Any help would be appreciated.

I am also faced the same problem.(Same host and guest version)

When I connected COPA-DATA Zenon license dongle, the guest will freeze anyway, hope someone could share some ideas...

Have you testet to disable vmkusb?

esxcli system module set -m=vmkusb -e=FALSE

That would only work on ESXi, this thread is in the Workstation Pro area.

Same problem.

 

Even tried to use Workstation as pass trough for the USB key to ESXI, same behavior for the Workstation.

The VM on ESXI still works. Need it solved for Workstation though.

Is the only way to downgrade to older Workstation?
