USB Drives Take 2-3 minutes to load on Win-10 Host running WinXP Guest

Title says it all:

Running VMWare Workstation 14.1.3 on a Microsoft Surface Pro (Windows 10 Pro 1803)

The guest OS is Windows XP Pro

When connecting any type of USB thumb drive, Workstation recognizes it right away, however the guest will lock up for anywhere from 2-3 minutes until the drive becomes available for the guest to use.

What I've tried:

  • Ran the same VM on my workbench (Windows 7 PC) and had no issues, drive mount right away (so i do not believe it is an issue with guest)
  • Rebuilt the VM (again, ruled out the guest being an issue)
  • Changed the USB mode, tried 1.1, 2.0, 3.0 (I know 3.0 not supported in XP, but worth a try)
  • Tried multiple USB drives, also tried the same USB drive multiple times (it takes the same amount of time for a unknown drive, or a known drive)
  • Tried NTFS, and FAT32 formatted drive, no changes

Any suggestions? The use of this VM requires constant use of various USB drives, 2-3 minutes just won't work...

I've also attached the usbarb log
