Hi everyone.
I am currently testing software requiring a USB dongle on Windows Vista Business. (My host is Win XP SP2, Pentium 4 3.6GHz, 2BG RAM, VMWare version is 5.5.3). Everything works fine and I can use the USB dongle plugged into the host, however, if I pause the VM Image, when it is resumed the guest no longer has access to the USB dongle.
The only was I can get it back, is to switch of the vista guest, remove the dongle physically, remove the Virtual USB controller, add the USB controller again. Start the Vsta guest, then plug the dongle back.
I would like to not have to do this as I often pause Images. Any ideas on how to prevent this?
