Trouble reverting or deleting snapshots

I have a huge hierarchy of VMware snapshots displaying different releases of our software.

Usually, everything runs smoothly, but since yesterday, I have trouble reverting snapshots:

"An error occurred while reverting to a snapshot: One of the disks in this virtual machine is already in use by a virtual machine or by a snapshot."

This snapshot has been created 10 days ago.

Yesterday, I was busy creating 3-4 snapshots subsequently.

Only later on, I saw that my host had only 30 GB of disk space remaining.

The host is Windows 10 Pro.

VMware Workstation Pro 16.2.3 is in use.

My main goal is to re-use as many good snapshots as possible, pruning the foul ones, so to say.

Any input appreciated.

Best regards

Michael

Same problem here. Not sure what the culprit is,  but I'm wondering if it has to do with either an update to VMware software or host as I have the same conditions as you. Unable to access any snapshots. For what its worth, I can modify the "VM Hamilton VENUS 4.vmx" to different snapshots by modifying the "nvme0:0.fileName = ..." line and replacing the snapshot, but it makes an absolute mess of the snapshot hierarchy. I can't seem to locate any log files that give more context than the error message either.

If you've found a solution, please direct me to it.
