This host supports AMD-V, but the AMD-V implementation is incompatible with VMware ESX

Hello; i am trying to get esxi 8.0U1a working on as a nested VM for lab testing. I am using a AMD Ryzen 9 7950x and i am getting this error when powering on a VM Failed - This host supports AMD-V, but the AMD-V implementation is incompatible with VMware ESX.

I tried the same task using version 7.03 and works ok there

I encounter the exact same error. Is there any way to make this work with ESXi 8.0U1a?

I also tried running esxi 8.0U2 in KVM on a AMD Ryzen 9 5950x. I can not spinning up vms, I am getting the same error messages.

Like  TechTowerz everything works fine with esxi 7.0.3.

Would be good to know if the support for AMD in KVM was removed intentional or this is more a bug that will be fixed at some point.

Same here, 3950x on X570 motherboard. Nested ESXi 8.x not working with AMD under KVM.

I think there is a patch that has made its way in to the Linux kernel 6.5.x that makes it work in Proxmox though.
