Tabs/VMs not appearing in Workstation window

Workstation 10.0.7, Windows 7 Pro 64 bit. Dell latitude E6530 1920x1080 screen. Only one user has this problem:

When starting any VM (either from the VMX file or File, Open...) The VM tab never appears on the Workstation window and a VM screen does not appear. The home tab is visible. The initial LCK folder is generated for the VM, so it appears to be starting. No errors are generated.

Any of the user's VMs can be started remotely from another PC. We already uninstalled/reinstalled Workstation. Enabling/disabling Tabs under View has no effect.

I've got the same issue. After rebooting base computer running Workstation 12.1.0 build 3272444, many, but not all tabs disappear, and some of the registered VM also disappear, requiring me to open the .vmx again. This seems to happen ramdomly after reboots of base system. Thoughts?

No effective suggestions from anywhere - ended up buying a license for Workstation 12 and installing it to fix.

I have the exact same problem on Workstation 12. Using Windows 7 Pro 64-bit.
