I received a response for a tech support question pertaining to the inability to properly set custom guest resolution sizes, as I could in 6.5, saying the reason was that Windows 7 Professional X64 was not tested or supported for Host or Guest.
According to the documentation they pointed me to:

Page 26 and 34, it lists the other Windows 7 as 32 bit and 64 bit but not the Professional edition. Well..... It does show the Business edition of Windows 7, however there is no such edition. Vista renamed the Pro edition as being the Business edition and then renamed the Business edition back to the Professional edition for Windows 7.
Due to this documentation error, this becomes the easy way out for VMWare support to dismiss any issues reported affecting Windows 7 Professional as it is an "unsupported" OS.
