Support for mounting a UDF file via the CDROM device in VMware Workstation 5.x and 6.x

Hi,

We use VMware Workstation 5.5.7, VMware Workstation v6.0.2, and VMware Workstation v6.5. For any of these versions of workstation, we use as a host OS either Windows XP SP2 (32-bit) or Windows Vista (32-bit).

Previously, we installed guest operating systems and applications via iso files, which we would mount directly via the CDROM device. Now, we need to do the same installs via UDF. Is it okay just to connect to a UDF file via the CDROM interface?

I've been unable to find anything in the docs or in the forums that directly address this issue.

tia,

Bernie

UDF is a filesystem for CD.

So if your guest can handle UDF it can also handle a ISO-file with UDF.

In other words - just do it Smiley Wink
