Strange problem with NAT

Hello,

i run a VMWare Workstation 6.5.2 XP32-Guest on a XP32-Host. The network adapter is configuered to NAT-mode (ip "subnet" 111.111.111.0 / subnet 255.255.255.0), everything is DHCP.

My Host gets a valid IP from DHCP-Router and my Guest gets a valid IP assigned from VMNat-service.

Pinging "www.google.com" works.

BUT if I try to open any website, it just doesn't display anything (also NO "no-internet-connection-available"-message)!

This problem isn't related to the firewall (windows) - I set it off, nothing changed.

Anyone knows about this behaviour?

Would you please post "ipconfig /all" from guest AND host?

This looks more like a DNS problem on your virtual machine. Can you manually change just the DNS setting in your virtual machine and check up? Assign similar DNS IP address which is configured on your host machine in your virtual machine DNS.

PS: Also check if you have enabled any proxy settings in your browser. Chose auto-detect proxy only.

thx for your help!

It turned out that my problems were related to the cisco vpn client I installed within the guest.

I'll open another discussen about this.
