SteamOS

I know that this is something a bit different, but I'm wondering weather I can install SteamOS as a Virtual machine even tough I don't have a Nvidia GPU. And if I should run the installation as if it was a normal Debian machine(its based on Debian 7.1) Can anyone help me?

Yes, I just installed the SteamOS in workstation, but that's about as far as I'm going to get at this point.  Currently they only offer nVidia graphic card support (drivers) bundled with the install.  Their page (SteamOS) says "AMD and Intel graphics support coming soon!".

I too only have ATI hardware and I'm not sure if that's going to work because of how VMware Workstation presents the 3D hardware to the OS.

Does anyone know?

I have installed it on VMware Workstation 10 no issues observed, Now there is no need to create ISO file for StreamOS beta.

Download stream OS from http://repo.steampowered.com/download/SteamOSDVD.iso

Check below hot to guide for VMware Workstation 10
