State of support for Host AMD Radeon graphics and guest D3D/OpenGL Acceleration?

I am looking to replace my aging workstation (intel/nvidia) with a newer system and am pretty much looking at AMD threadripper & Radeon graphics as it appears AMD has the best value offerings.   However I use my system to run VM's and use Linux (ubuntu 22.04) and windows (server 2019/2022) as the host OS's about equally.

I am concerned as from the vmware documentation it appears that linux + radeon is not supported (functional) at all:

https://www.vmware.com/products/workstation-pro.html

"For Linux hosts, AMD devices are not supported"

and Radeon is barely mentioned here in the forums or on https://docs.vmware.com/en/VMware-Workstation-Player-for-Linux/17.0/com.vmware.player.linux.using.do...

with Intel/Vulkan given the main mention as apparently an afterthought.

Can anyone chime in here as to what the status of support is for workstation pro for Linux & windows hosts and getting D3D/OpenGL acceleration for guests?  I really don't want to switch to using different products (like Hyper-V for windows and kvm or virtualbox for linux).

If you are going to use the latest AMD GPUs you should be fine. Our vulkan renderer works well on recent AMD GPUs with the latest AMD Open source driver.
