Starting a vm returns: unrecoverable error...timeTracker_user.c:232 bugNr=148722

Host: 3.10.5-201.fc19.x86_64

Guest: any (tried windows, other distros)

vmware Workstation 9.0.2, patched with this and that.

I stumbled upon a somewhat relevant KB article but don't know how to go about finding maximum CPU speed, assuming the workaround is even applicable here.

Any help is much appreciated.

I can't tell you for sure whether the KB article will help, because there are already a couple of discussions reporting issues with Intel's "K" CPU models. However, according to the log file "Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3770K CPU @ 3.50GHz" the proper entry should be:

host.cpukHz = "3500000"

Thanks a bunch, setting the host.cpukHz parameter in ~/.vmware/config totally fixed it.
