I am running VMware Workstation v6.0.2 build-59824 on Ubuntu 7.10 64-bit Host OS...
How can I get sound to work on more then one VM at the same time?
When I run 2 or more instances of VM's I get the following error:
How can I get my Sound/VM's to play nice with one another?
TIA,
-BassKozz
You can't, it's not a device that can be shared
:bump: anyone want to take a stab at this?

Well I guess that solves that then...
Thanks Kevin

would pulseaudio allow for multiple vm's to share sound if i opened up each vm in it's own session?
Pulse Audio is built into Ubuntu 8.04 (Hardy) which will be released next month.
:bump:
Does anyone know if Pulse Audio would allow one to share the same sound device over multiple VM's?
Well now that Ubuntu 8.04 is out, I figured I'd give this one more last :BUMP:
I guess there is no way around the dreaded:
VMware Workstation v6.0.3 build-80004
Host OS: Ubuntu 8.04 64-bit
There may be:
Use wmaredsp wrapper.
If you have /dev/adsp (depends on sound card), you may have luck with pointing Workstation to it instead of /dev/dsp.
Bug VMware and hope they'll finally get their act together and finally switch to ALSA (which is capable of mixing multiple sources just fine, either itself or by routing to PulseAudio). Seriously, guys: it's 2008!
