Skype 5.8 doesn't work on Windows 7

Hi

I have Worksation 8.0.471780 and I can not use Skype 5.8 - sound quality is really, really bad.

On Windows XP Skype (older version) work ok.

Hi and welcome

version 8.0 is outdated - use version 8.0.3 or 8.1 beta

we do not know your host OS
we do not know wether you run skype in a VM or on the host

please provide more details

vmware workstation 8.0.3 703057 (I made update-also vmware tools on vm)

host OS Windows 7 64bit SP1

Skype in on VM, not on host

My friend has the same problem

to get decent sound inside a VM make sure NOT to assign more than one virtual CPU
