Since update to Workstation 16.1 no multi monitor layout is working for long

Since the update to Workstation Pro 16.1 (coming from latest 15) when I go fullscreen and use two Monitor layout I have the issue that my monitor layout arbitrarily switches from 2 monitors back to a single monitor. When will this be fixed? I can't work like that!!!

Totally a no go.

I'm having the exact same issue, so frustrating! Others have posted about the problem, but no solutions that I have seen yet.

Same problem here. Upgraded from Workstation 14 to 16 and the second monitor keeps dropping out after a while. This worked flawlessly before the upgrade, and the VM is unchanged.

I am using Windows 10 for both the host and the guest PC. Monitor 1 is the Notebook screen. Monitors 2 and 3 are external monitors.
I am using monitors 2 and 3 for VMware. I set it up for 2 and 3, and after a while it drops back to monitor 2 only (and all the contents shift back to monitor 2)

This is what the log says when it happens:
