Shared VM's - Add VMDK on separate drive

I have a shared VM, for  the sole purpose of enabling autostart.

When I went to add a separate VMDK drive for the guest, it was referencing a directory sort of similar to how ESXI looks...but I was unable to browse to a parent directory to look for my separate drive.

Thinking it was a sharing issue...I shared a folder on that drive, but did not see it.

Is this possible? If so, what am I missing?

For now, I manually created a junction (to the location that I desire) in replacement of the default VM share folder.

Is there a setting I can set for where shared VM's go?

Yeah, I found it. It's in Preferences.
