So I have 2 VMs and a shared VM running on workstation 15 Pro. I decided to upgrade to a larger SSD. Being an inexperienced VM operator, I copied all 3 folders (including the Shared VM) to the new drive. I was able to open 2 VMs from the new drive but the shared VM was not opening from the new drive. Thank god, I had not deleted the original folders from the smaller drive. I deleted the shared VM from the larger drive and started googling on how to move shared VMs. After a few minutes I learned that I have to stop sharing the VM then copy it and share it again. When I attempted to stop sharing the VM, It first removed Win 7 Pro VM from the Shared VM Parent directory and the wizard gave me an error.
I tried creating a new shared VM and pointing to the vmx file but no luck. It tries to boot into it but fails. If I did not have a few important files in the VM I would just recreate it but I can not. I would appreciate any guidance.
Thanks

After you copied shared VM to a larger SSD, you could open it locally and share it again. And you could change the shared VMs location in preferences->Shared VMs, and find all shared VMs there.
Yeah, it is my arrogance to think I could have handle it without help in any case. it is too late now.
after wjwj 's reply I went to preferences and update the Shared VM location to the new drive.
Also here is a screenshot of the boot screen.
Also I copied all the log files to a separate location to review the details and find any reason why the shared vm was deleted and not moved back to regular VM parent directory. Looking for clues so far.
Thanks
