Setup a Test Lab using vmware workstation while sharing production internet connection

I am using VMWare Workstation 7.0. I want to set up a test lab which mimics my production environment.

My production network is using a 192.168.0.0/254 subnet and running with Vsphere hosts, SQL server, AD etc.

I want to have these services in my test labs running as VMs, be able to

communicate with each other like their actual production counterparts do,

but I want the two environments to be invisible to each other.

I want the virtual machines in the test lab to have access to the

internet. How do I accomplish this?

I can create virtual machines and select 'bridged' network configuration, but this puts the

virtual machines on the production network. 'Host' network seems to

keep the virtual environment private, but doesn't allow the virtual machines to access the internet.

So my question is how would I run my

Test lab network while sharing the internet connection of the

production network BUT isolated from the production network?

BTW,

On to my production network I have a Dell power connect Managed switch

(Vlan capable), If vlan is the answer can someone please elaborate on how to do it?

My test lab will have 1 or 2 servers with VMWare workstation installed and have all the test VM’s run from there. If you need more information please let me know

Regards
