Screen Resolution In Windows 10 on VMWare Workstation Pro 12

Hi There

Just built a Windows 10 VM using Workstation Pro 12 - having terrible problems getting the screen resolution correct - have tried uninstalling and reinstalling VMWare tools and unched the 3D accelerator but this seems to make no difference.

Can anyone advise please

Many thanks

Pat

Have you in full screen mode after VMware tools installed and restart vm? Typically it will autofit guest with the correct screen resolution. If in full screen mode, it cannot autofit, you may click menu: View->Autosize->autofit Guest.

Hello,

Could it be the new Display scaling option in Hardware/Display ?

Such a shame (for me) the default option is on. :smileyplain:

You can give a try changing it in each VM settings (Ctrl + D).

For older VM, you could even set directly the parameter in the .vmx file (my prefered way :smileycool:) :

gui.applyHostDisplayScalingToGuest = "false"
