SMTP error from Windows Live Mail (Desktop Client) only occuring in guest OS, never in Host (and configuration is identical)?

Hi Everyone,

I am running a Windows 7 (x64) guest inside VMware Workstation. My host computer is running Windows 7 x64 bit also, and on my host I have the Windows Live Mail (Desktop Client) installed. In WLM (Windows Live Mail) I have two email accounts setup; one with Microsoft (Hotmail), and the other with Yandex (Yandex Mail).

Recently I decided to move my emails to my VM. Due to this I installed the WLM program in my guest OS, and configured the program for accessing both of my email accounts.

Whilst Hotmail is working fine I am getting errors from my Yandex account. Ironically I successfully setup the account, about two days ago, and sent / received mail through it. Furthermore I imported all of my email history into it (from my guest), however late today, and this morning I am seeing an error message -

When I click on the Error details dialog I see the following -

I have checked and triple checked the account settings, and they have not been changed (from working credentials - that as previously stated worked fine in the guest about 2 - 3 days ago).

I am wondering if there is something VM specific that might be causing this error.

Any help here will be greatly appreciated.

Kind Regards,

David

How does the host connect its network wired or wireless?

What VMnet is the guest connected to?
