Run guest OS automatically at system boot time

I have a server running Windows Server 2008 R2 and have installed Workstation 8.0.2 with a Red Hat Linux 5 guest OS. I need to have the VM start and the guest OS boot automatically when the Windows boots. I would have thought this to be a common operation but I cannot find any mention of how this can be done in the Workstation documentation.

Can somebody provide a pointer to how this can be accomplished?

You need to change the VM into a Shared VM.  Should be documentation in the Help file about Shared VMs.

Ther may also be a script you could  create to run when the Windows host  starts but sorry I don't have the specs.  Google your problem.

Configure the VM as a shared VM and enable the autostart feature.
