Restricted VM's from earlier versions

I know this is removed from Vmware version 16 but at least provide option to open in read-only mode so annoying.

I have some legacy vms from backups i want to open . Other than uninstalling and re-installing a version 15, anyone has a way of doing something with the version 16?

Hi,

A possible workaround is to install VMware Workstation 15 in a VM.

That way you can open the VM and remove the restriction.

If you enable the hypervisor option on the VM's CPU you can even run the VM, although it will not be as performant and obviously restricted to the resources of the VM in which you run the nested VM.
