Hi,
I have two machines. I try to run VMWare WS with x-forwarding. The main machine is at 193.94.146.135 and the headless server on which the VMWare is istalled is at 193.94.146.61.
I have installed VMWare at the server.
Then I make ssh connection with ssh -X 193.94.146.61
then at the prompt xeon1> vmware
everything works except I cannot produce anything with Alt Gr like @
When I start a virtual machine It informs me that it has detected a keyboard with se101 which is obviously wrong. it should be 105. Where and how does is detuct this?
Any pointers?

I found in the net a comment that adding xkeymap.usekeycodeMap = true in /etc/vmware/config should help. Well it does for a minute.
With it I get the @ with Alt Gr but problem is that it leads to totally unworking machine. The machine 193.94.146.135 keyboard locks solid. Not even capslock is working.
Machine itself is not dead - I can boot it by ssh:ing to it and reboot.
Hopefully someone has an insight to this.
Best Regards
