Remote access to VMWare Workstation in html5 webbrowser with WSX server still supported, or any other new solution ?

I see this pretty old blog about this:

What I can see, is the last release of the WSX server is outdated back from 2012. Does anyone know, if it is discontinued, or are there any other web browser based remote management solution exist for VMWare Workstation (not Sphere, as I know it is the default client now)

It is a shame that support for WSX was dropped. I see a lot of question about how to properly remotely manage your VMware Workstation installation, including my own Best way to access and manage shared VM's in Workstation 14

The solution parmarr proposes has a few downsides:

• You will need to add VM's to the "shared" list, and this has to be done for every single VM
• You need to install and license another copy of VMware Workstation on every client

The best solution I found yet was RemoteApp serving from Windows 10: Host RemoteApps from Windows PCs (Part 1) - TechGenix , but the client and host need to be Windows of course
