Hi, I have a vista64 machine which I could remote desktop into until I installed vmware workstation. Any ideas?
Hi,
I had the same problem some time ago: the problem is with the windows firewall.
When you install VMWare workstation the application also adds two "VMware virtual ethernet adapters" (you can find them in "Control Panel" -> "Network Connections").
Try disabling these two connections and you should be able to rdesktop your Vista machine again.

Thanks for the quick reply. Does anyone know what these two virtual ethernet adapters are used for and what will break when I disable them? Also, what should they have to do with my real PC? Traffic coming in through the real ethernet adapter shouldn't be messed about with by these virtual ones?!?
