RE:error loading /tools.t00

Hello,

        i am trying to install vmware esx5.0 in my vmware workstation 7. during installation as a virtual machine it gives below error. Can anyone help me to resolve it & inform me what is this error.

error loading /tools.t00

i read two word in virtualization vmware one is Vmware Vsphere & other is Vmware ESX server. can anyone tel me both are different or same. please tell me about these in some details.

are you sure you configured the VM correctly ?
please post the vmware.log

can you run any 64 bit VM ?

Do you have VT support enabled in the hosts BIOS ?

i have laptop with windows XP. in this i have installed vmware workstation 7. in workstation i m installating esx as a new virtual machine. is it possible.

or first i have to install window with 64 bit oprerating system.

To run a 64bit guest - such as ESXi5 - you do not need a 64bit host OS. So XP 32 is fine.
All you need is a CPU that supports 64bit VMs
