Problem with Novell Netware (iManager) while using VMWare.

First off thank you for taking the time to read this!

I am not sure but I believe this to be a VMware problem as everyone got the same pre-installed VMWare image of Netware. But I still posted a similar message at their support forum (http://www.ndsengineers.com/imanager/515793-problem-novell-netware-6-5-imanager-while-using-vmware.html#post2758438).

My Problem:

iManager will not work. No matter how many different ways I can think of to access it (https://server_ip/nps/iManager.html, https://server_ip:2200) Internet Explorer and Firefox both give me a "Page cannot be displayed" error.

My setup:

I am running VMWare Workstation 6.5 ACE Edition.

Novell Netware 6.5 running on VMWare, IP address 192.168.1.101 host 192.168.1.1. It was installed by a VMware image contained on a DVD that I bought from Novell.

I cannot access iManager from either my Host OS (Windows XP SP2) or my Guest OS (Windows XP SP2 with Netware Client 4.90.0.0 SP1a). I can however ping the Novell server from both other OS, and vice versa, so they are definitely communicating (I can also log into the server on my Guest OS).

My teacher and I are both stumped by this so any Help would be greatly appreciated!

Here is my Novell's .vmx:

Well https://server_ip/. uses port 443, and https://server_ip:2200 uses port 2200, I dont know which port it is supposed to be on, but is there anyway server end you can prove which IP its listening on? does http://server_ip work?

Hi, Thanks for the reply!

By getting help from the people over at the Netware forums I have concluded that there is something wrong with apache, as it is unable to open ports 443 and 2200. Here is a link to how far we have come (http://www.ndsengineers.com/imanager/515793-problem-novell-netware-6-5-imanager-while-using-vmware.html#post2758438).

Thanks for the response!
