Is someone know this issue ???
(Workstation pro 14 with standalone installed, goods hostname, username and password filled, admin rights, UAC and firewall disabled).
Someone to help me please...
Thanks.
Please explain what you are actually trying to do.
What OS are you trying to import ?
What kind of hardware is that OS running on ?
....
Hi, of course !!! I installed VmWare Workstation 14 on a PC with windows 10 (AMD Ryzen 7 / 16 Go RAM / SSD 275 Go). I created a Vm with windows 7 (it runs, so the virtualization is enabled on the PC and the motherboard). Now, i would like to "virtualize a physical machine", in fact, my host system (windows 10 on a SSD which runs during the process, because it is fully configurated) for :
1 - Maybe to run the Vms on a new and durably clean system (windows 10)
2 - Maybe to run the Vms on a non determinate linux system (if you have any recommendation about stability and lightness).
PS : VMware vCenter Converter Standalone Client is installed.
Does this explanation allow you to see a solution ?
Thanks for your interest...
Did you launch Converter with the option "run as administrator" ?
You need to do that even if you are already logged in as admin.
For the import to work you need enough free space on aöö NTFS partitions.
Thanks for your reply, i'll launch the process in the next days because before... i just think about it now, i must move the other VM (windows 7). There is not any interest to virtualize it !!! For the moment, i have a question for you. In the advances options, do i need to modify the numbers of core (16) and RAM capacity ? Or others config datas ? Because actually it's a local machine but after a VM which will run on this machine. The "power" will be "share" !!! Thanks very much for your assistance.
No - settings for vRAM and vCPUs can be adjusted once the P2V process is done.
