Hi All
This is my first post here.
I am trying to install Windows 98SE in VMware Workstation. Details for virtual machine which I created are below.
Every time when I starts Setup, it will first check the disk as usual in Windows 98 setup, but after completing the disk check my host computer, which is running Windows 8 64 bit will restarts all of a sudden.
I tried many times and same problem is happening again and again.
I am really frustrated now. Can anyone help me on this.
Thanks in advance.
Hi greatgambler, and welcome to the VMware Communities!
Are you using Workstation 9.0.0? There is a defect in that version which can cause an unexpected reboot of a Windows 8 host with an Ivy Bridge processor. If that's your situation, updating to 9.0.1 or newer (I'd recommend 9.0.2) should resolve the issue, as described in the VMware Workstation 9.0.1 Release Notes.
Download site: Download VMware Workstation 9.0
