Preserve modified timestamp when copying or synronizing files/folders with shared folder (workstation 12.5, host: Ubuntu 16, guests W7)

HI there,

I hope somebody can help me.

I'm having a little trouble with shared folders and timestamps.

I use them to synchronize data between several W7 guests on my ubuntu host.

For this I depend on the modified timestamp (using total Commander for synchronization)

Modified and created timestamps of copied files are always set to the time, when the files are copied to the share.

Is there a way to preserve the modified timestamp ?

Until some time ago, I used virtualbox, where I didn't encounter this problem.

Thanks for any help on this

thanks for the very fast reply

actually I had found that post, maybe I should have mentioned that, sorry.

I want a tool where I can visually control the synchronization,

which is why I would prefer continuing to use total commander (or Beyond compare)

over switching to robocopy.

Is there no way to configure shared folders in vmware to behave like 'normal' windows folders in this respect?
