Powering up fails in VmWare Workstation 14 Pro with unable to open vmdk file the System cannot find the file specified.

Have not used this particular VM for a while, but just got a great need to work with it.

As mentioned, as soon as I try to power up the VM I get the error message:

- unable to open "Path"\Server-cl6.vmdk file the System cannot find the file specified.

I can see the file on my hard disk.

Tried to copy it over the VM to another location, but didn't help.

Is there any way to get this solved?

Oh, I used to have this running on another computer that broke.

All help is appreciated, since I feel stuck with this problem.

Welcome to the Community,

the VM's folder only contains the snapshot .vmdk files. The base virtual disk's files ("Server-cl6-s001.vmdk" through "Server-cl6-s026.vmdk") are missing.

PS: The support file you posted contains the VM's username and password in the .vmx file's annotations. You may consider to remove this attachment from your post.
