Possible to Add an Existing Virtual Machine to Shared VMs in Workstation 11?

Hi All,

I was wondering if it was possible to add an existing Virtual Machine into Shared VMs in Workstation 11? I know I can build new VMs but I'm in the middle of testing a CentOS VM that I don't want to have to rebuild. Also, It was imported as a tar.gz from another computer of mine so thus why I didn't just create it as a Share VM to begin with.

If it helps my Specs are below:

Host OS: Linux Mint 17

RAM: 4960 MB

OS Version: 3.13.0-37-generic

VM Workstation 11.1.0 Build-2496824

Please let me know if additional information is needed.

Hi,

Sorry only verified the steps on Workstation 8 atm, but I'm quite sure they are similar on WS 11.

Shut down the VM

Right click the VM -> Manage -> Share

Then follow the steps through the wizard to change from local VM to shared VM.

done.
