Port Question is it native to the OS or....

I am interested in using VMware Workstation to test our software

applications and how it in turn manages communications via USB or Serial. What I’m

looking for is; will the ports be treated/managed as the Virtual OS or the Host

OS. In the end to be able to test in the true environment is our goal and

VMware would make this task very easy for us as long as each port is truly

running as it would for a native install.

I would greatly appreciate any advice you have on this subject.

The question is what you are waiting for?

Seriously, VMWare allows using Workstation for 30 days trial period, so I can't understand what your problem is.

And yes, VMWare allows direct both USB and Serial port access for a guest OS.
