Hi !

am a new bie for VMWare so please help me on these following issues. and first let me give u the series of steps I did :-

1. I installed, vmware workstation first

2.then instlaled vmware player

3. installed WINXP OS in VMware image

and now i got issues

1. How t oconnect from my base Operating system to VMIMAGED WINXP?

2. How to configure network connections on VMIMAGED WINXP..?

3. How to enable USB SUPPORT on WINXP ?

4. How can we use the INTERNET on WINXP based on my base Operating System.

(player came with workstation you knew that right?)

Answers:

1 you can view it through the player or workstation applications, or like any physical box with rdp/vnc if you set it up

2. Read the helpfile on host only, NAT or briged. Decide which of those 3 vmware settings suits you best, and as long as its set to DHCP for the first 2 or whatever is relevant for your core network for bridged. Your network is there.

3. Make sure your guest has a USB controller device, and pick the appropriate settings you want eg, auto attach etc

4. NAT networking will be simplest.
