Performance issue with VM on VMWare Workstation 16

Hello,

I have VMWare Worksation 16 installed on Windows 11 machine. I also have a Win7 VM. Unfortunately the performance of the VM is terrible to the point one window like notepad takes seconds to draw on the screen.

I tried everything I could find:

- disable hyper V

- disable core isolation

- increase RAM to 6GB (8 available on physical machine)

- increase CPUs to 2/4 (1 cpu, 4 cores, 8 logical available on physical machine)

- defrag disk

The laptop is Lenovo T480S with i5-8350U, 8 GB, SSD disk, Integrated video.

One more thing, do you have a graphic card? how does the situation look with drivers?

Thanks for the provided article. I have been searching for quite a while without success. I will try to follow it.

Meanwhile my laptop is lenovo t480s with i5-8350U CPU, 8GB Ram, running Win 11 22h2, Video card is integrated Intel Graphics 620

Hyper-V is disabled

Wrt drivers, I am not sure how to answer the question - but all needed drivers on the physical machine are installed.
