Novatel Ovation MC996D / MC998D HSPA+ Mobile Broadband USB Modem Compatibility

Hi,

I am trying to connect a Novatel Ovation MC996D / MC998D HSPA+ Mobile Broadband USB Modem under VMWare Workstation 7 and XP SP3.

When connecting the USB modem to the PC the VMWare XP Guest correctly sees the USB Modem and installs the software.

The problem is that the Drivers for the USB Modem do not install correctly.

Can anyone assist me in correctly this issue?

USB support of WS 7 is work in progress - if it did work with 6.5 I would go back to WS 6.5

do other USB devices work without problems ?
can you use USB-disks or sticks ?

Hi,

This device did NOT work under 6.5 either which is why I went to WS 7.

My AirPCAP USB Wireless Capture stick works fine.

USB Sticks, mice, etc all work fine under 6.5 and 7 - the only issue is this USB HSPA+ Modem

Any Ideas on how to make this HSPA+ modem to work under WS7?
