I am running Mandriva under VMWare and Windows XP but there is no sound driver found?
Thanks for your anticipated help.
Keith
Have you added an audio adapter to your VM? If so, it should (most likely) be a Creative Labs' SoundBlaster AudioPCI (ESS1371) device.
Hi Keith,
It's not clear to me what is the host OS and what is the guest OS of the virtual machine.
Host is Windows XP
Virtual is Linux Mandriva 2007.0
Keith
In VMWare the sound device is:
Realtek AC97 Audio
Keith
Yes, that's what HOST audio adapter will be mapped to the virtual audio adapter in the guest. The guest will see the device I posted above.
No, here are my Guest choices....
Autodetect
Open Sound System
Advanced Linux Sound Architecture
No Audio Input/Output
Jack Audio Connection Kit
Threaded Open Source System
Keith
When I go into the hardware configuration screen in the Guest system......here is what I see as the sound card
Sound Blaster AudioPCI64V/AudioPCI128
Keith
ok, I played around with the drivers in Harddrake and even though it said the installation was unsuccessful, after two tries BINGO. It now works.
Thanks for you help,
Keith
