No network connectivity to DHCP server

Hello all,

I am new to this community and hopefully i used the right Location.

I have installed ESXi on an old computer and everything is running fine...now I have installed another ESXi 6.5 in a VM...also everything is smooth.

BUT when I create a VM on that nested ESXi this VM only has connectivity to the vmk0 interface of the nested VM...it can not reach anything outside the vSwitch (of the nested ESXi) even though there is an uplink.

And the vmk0 interface of the nested ESXi has full connectivity over the uplink.

Thanks in advance

That's because network traffic is only forwarded to known MAC addresses. In order for the bare metal host to forward traffic to the nested host's vSwitch on which you've created the VM port groups, you need to enable "Promiscuous Mode" on the bare metal host's VM port group.
